The Bear and Blacksmith Chillington (15 minute drive). Friendly pub boasting a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The menu features the freshest fish and seafood from the shores surrounding the pub, as well as a selection of Devon’s finest meat.
The Millbrook Inn South Pool (20 minute drive). Very popular and busy pub with an excellent menu almost exclusively sourced from the South Hams.
Riverford Farm Buckfastleigh (35 minute drive). Well known for their organic produce. A feast of freshly picked seasonal produce in an award winning restaurant.
The Oyster Shack Bigbury (40 minute drive). Mediterranean theme décor. In Top 100 restaurants in UK; seafood heaven!
Gidleigh Park Chagford (90 minute drive). Renowned restaurant serving fabulous food, set in the middle of the Dartmoor National Park. It is a bit of a journey, but well worth a visit if exploring Dartmoor.
Ship Inn Noss Mayo (45 minute drive). Award winning waterside pub.

Blackpool Sands (20 minutes walk). Blackpool Sands, set in a sheltered bay surrounded by evergreens and pines, is one of South Devon's most beautiful natural treasures. An award-winning privately managed family beach with turquoise blue sea giving it an almost Mediterranean feel.
Slapton Ley and Slapton Beach (20 minutes walk). Long stretch of beach and the largest freshwater lake in South West England.
South West Coast Path (30 metres away). There are a number of stunning and dramatic walks including, Strete to Little Dartmouth, East Prawle and Start Point.
River Link, Dartmouth Combine a cruise up the River Dart from Dartmouth to Totnes with a trip on a steam train from Kingswear to Paignton.
Coleton Fishacre Kingswear (15 minute drive) National Trust property; a luxuriant garden by the sea, with an Arts & Crafts-style house, featuring Art Deco-influenced interiors.
Greenway Galmpton (20 minute drive or via ferry from Dartmouth). National Trust property; the former home of Agatha Christie set on the banks of the River Dart.
Overbecks Salcombe (20 minute drive) Luxuriant coastal garden surrounding elegant Edwardian house with diverse collections.
Flavel Hall Dartmouth; cinema and theatre.
Dartmouth Golf & Country Club (5 minute drive). 18 hole golf course. We are able to provide guests of Strete Barton House to a discount 25% to play golf at the Dartmouth Golf.
Dartington Cider Press Totnes (20 minute drive). Unique visitor centre with fifteen shops, eating places and workshops set in a village atmosphere.
